NHRA Heritage Jr Fuel Rules for 2014
3 classes of Jr Fuel will race together using a Handi-cap dial-in on a .40 Pro Tree.
With the purpose of increasing the number of teams and diversity for a exciting
Nostalgia 10,000 RPM front engine dragster Drag Racing Series.
The three classes are J/F “A” is RR 14° valve angle SBC all iron engine with a
maximum engine size of 430 ci with 3.5 lbs/ ci, with a Powerglide, and 12” slicks
The index or dial-in is 6.89 et, which was the current NHRA Comp Elim A/ND
National record and the Heritage dial-in will only change at a NHRA Heritage race during eliminations.
J/F “B” is a 23° valve angle Raised Runner SBC all iron engine with the same rules
as J/F “A” also following the rules for NHRA Comp Elim B/ND and record of 6.98, again until the record is reset at a Heritage race during eliminations.
Hemi and Ford all iron engines are allowed also.
J/F “C” is 23° valve angle NON Raised Runner SBC all iron engines, but since there
is no Comp Elim C/ND class the Handi-cap/ dial-in is 7.20 which is the record for SBC’s
from the SouthWest JrFuel Ass., based in Dallas TX. Otherwise the rules are the same
as A/ND and B/ND, ie 430ci limit, 3.5lbs/ci, converter, with a Powerglide 2 speed
transmission 12” slicks, & max 225” wheelbase, resticked to alcohol fuel,
also following all safety rules as listed in the NHRA rule book, under A/ND, and B/ND.
This Handi-cap system is a NO break-out rule, so if a team runs better than their
handi-cap they will not lose the race, but the very next round will be at the new handi-cap
All teams racing must have their class displayed on their race car, ie A/ND or J/F A
B/ND or J/F B, C/ND or J/F C, so the track can easily see the class and there- by be
able to dial-in the class dial-in. Each Heritage event track will be supplied with
a list of racers, car numbers, and the class they will be racing, along with their dial-in.
To recap, J/F “A” dial-in is 6.89, J/F “B” is 6.98, and J/F “C” is 7.20 as of 3-11-13,
and will change only at a Heritage race during eliminations by resetting the Heritage record.
